So I...

Nashville - No one will ever love you (by catarinalops)

So I just started watching Nashville, and I’m digging it. I’m pretty much here for Connie Britton only, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked everything else.

Pros: Connie Britton’s flawless self. Country music. The chick from Heroes. A collection of fine ass men, including Deacon’s fine ass self who used to be on Who’s Line back in the day.

Cons: I do wish the cinematography were more consistent (sometimes it’s amazing and sometimes it’s a hot mess) and I wish the writing weren’t so overbearingly expository (though I’m still in the early episodes, so the set-up is totally necessary).

I’ve been needing my Connie Britton fix ever since the first season of American Horror Story ended, and this will most definitely satisfy me.

Justin Timberlake - I’m Ready (by JustinTimberlake)

The Oscar nominations this year are 90% expected, with a couple of nice surprises sprinkled about. And by a couple I literally mean 2. 2 nice surprises in an otherwise by the books boring set of nominations.

Also at this point, I think it’s safe to say that the Academy HATES Leonardo DiCaprio for no discernible reason.

Here is the full list, with my picks in bold.

Best Picture:

“Beasts of the Southern Wild”

“Silver Linings Playbook”

“Zero Dark Thirty”

“Lincoln”

“Les Miserables”

“Life of Pi”

“Amour”

“Django Unchained”

“Argo”

Beasts is the darkhorse this year and I’d be very happy to see this movie come in and sweep all the boring old white people movies. That being said, even though I think Inglourious Basterds was a lot better than Django….Django has been getting a ton of buzz and I’m surprised to see it nominated. Maybe Tarantino will finally get that best picture award!?

In either case, I want one of the films starring the people of color to win.

Best Supporting Actor:

Christoph Waltz, “Django Unchained”

Philip Seymour Hoffman, “The Master”

Robert De Niro, “Silver Linings Playbook”

Alan Arkin, “Argo”

Tommy Lee Jones, “Lincoln”

I’m Team Christoph because Christoph is flawless. BUT I’m surprised he was nominated over Leo DiCaprio and Sam Jackson. I though both of them were the real stars of Django Unchained.

<strike>I also secretly wanted Matthew McConaughey to get a supporting nod for Magic Mike. But w/e I knew that was never gonna happen.</strike>

Best Supporting Actress:

Sally Field, “Lincoln”

Anne Hathaway, “Les Miserables”

Jacki Weaver, “Silver Linings Playbook”

Helen Hunt, “The Sessions”

Amy Adams, “The Master”

I haven’t seen Les Mis yet and am probably going to hate it, but Anne is everybody’s fave right now. If she doesn’t win it’ll be a shock.

Best Director:

David O. Russell, “Silver Linings Playbook”

Ang Lee, “Life of Pi”

Steven Spielberg, “Lincoln”

Michael Haneke, “Amour”

Benh Zeitlin, “Beasts of the Southern Wild”

No Quentin I see. Well shit…..Ang Lee I guess.

Best Actor:

Daniel Day Lewis, “Lincoln”

Denzel Washington, “Flight”

Hugh Jackman, “Les Miserables”

Bradley Cooper, “Silver Linings Playbook”

Joaquin Phoenix, “The Master”

Honestly DGAF.

Best Actress:

Naomi Watts, “The Impossible”

Jessica Chastain, “Zero Dark Thirty”

Jennifer Lawrence, “Silver Linings Playbook”

Emmanuelle Riva, “Amour”

Quvenzhané Wallis, “Beasts of the Southern Wild”

Any one of these ladies I’d be happy with. Quvenzhane winning would be a pleasant surprise and like I said, I secretly want Beasts to steal everything. JLaw is my fave though and I’d love for her to win. Same with Chastain.

Best Original Screenplay:

“Zero Dark Thirty”

“Django Unchained”

“Moonrise Kingdom”

“Amour”

“Flight”

No one beats Tarantino the original screenplay category, bitches.

Best Adapted Screenplay:

“Lincoln”

“Silver Linings Playbook”

“Argo”

“Life of Pi”

“Beasts of the Southern Wild”

#teambeasts

Best Animated Feature:

“Frankenweenie”

“The Pirates! Band of Misfits”

“Wreck-It Ralph”

“Paranorman”

“Brave”

I’d be happy with Ralph or Norman winning this one, but I’m actually leaning towards Paranorman because it’d be nice for someone other than Dreamworks or Disney to win the animation category. Also the stop motion in Paranorman was flawless.

Best Foreign Feature:

“Amour”

“A Royal Affair”

“Kon-Tiki”

“No”

“War Witch”

Saw none of these.

“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”

“Prometheus”

“Snow White and the Huntsman”

Anything other than Snow White.

Best Cinematography:

“Anna Karenina”

So this just popped up on my facebook feed. At first I was like, “gotta be fake. Too good to be true.”

And then I wiki’d:

During a 2012 questionnaire on Reddit, Genndy Tartakovsky stated that a new Powerpuff Girls series is underway.Ringo Starr of The Beatles fame revealed that he had recorded voices for a new character in the series for its relaunch planned for premiere in 2013.

12 for '12 (film)

2012 was a solid year in film for me. Lots of really fun big blockbusters that were actually worth the hype, some great ‘event’ flicks, some really fun original IPs (which is awesome, considering 2011 holds the record for most sequels and franchise releases EVER), and it was a SPECTACULAR year for animation junkies like me.

Some notes about my end of the year round up for film: I’m more interested in listing the films that I enjoyed the most rather than the ones that were objectively the best made. There are tons of impeccably made films that I enjoyed but I’m not jumping out of my seat to see again. Also I’m a big fan of the theater-going experience, so anything that enhances that in some way will probably win points from me.

But first my biggest disappointment: Paranormal Activity 4. A serviceable horror movie that does its job but derives all of its big scares from recycled tricks and adds NOTHING to the series’ story. There’s a decent twist revealed, but after how awesome the first three are, this feels like such a waste.

And now to my top 12:

12. Safety Not Guaranteed

The indie-est movie on my list this year. I saw this one on a whim, mostly for Aubrey Plaza (I’m a Parks and Rec stan) and didn’t regret it whatsoever. This movie is a very human approach to time travel, centered around a man looking for a time travel pertner in a newspaper ad, but is hardly a sci-fi flick. The entire cast is on point; Aubrey Plaza and the INCREDIBLE Mark Duplass have serious on screen chemistry. Their chemistry, in fact, carries me through what could have otherwise been a tedious hipster-flick with some weird pacing. This one also, thankfully, got Jake Johnson on my radar. He plays a great asshole.

11. Resident Evil Retribution

I LOVE these awful movies. I mean, objectively speaking this was probably one of the worst movies of the year. Lazy predictable script. Unnecessary characters tacked on for fan service. Ridiculously over the top action scenes. But somehow all of this came together and turned RE: Retribution into one of the most entertaining flicks of the year. Every time a new RE movie comes out people moan, but I love ‘em all. The 3rd one is unwatchable, but the rest are all the definition fun popcorn flicks. And I actually enjoyed the 3D in this one. There are some truly spectacularly choreographed fight sequences, and the action never lets up. Michelle Rodriguez gets to actually act for once, and my adopted baby daddy Oded Fehr returns. This series is, to me, the closest thing we have to old 70s and 80s scifi action franchises that had a million sequels that people hold so dear even though thosemovies weren’t any better. And the character of Alice is a badass bitch, and I love badass bitches. So.

10. Looper

Holy crap. First of all this movie is directed by the same guy who directed Brick (also starring Joseph Gordon Levitt) which is one of my all time favorite movies ever. This is a very grounded and gritty take on the sci-fi genre. Usually with time travel (a recurring theme this year?) you have to just accept the timey wimey bullshit that comes with it and ignore it all for the sake of entertainment. But somehow Looper manages to make it all make sense and seem totally plausible. This is a working man’s sci-fi picture. Great performances from JGL and Bruce Willis too. They play off of each other very well.

9. John Carter

I don’t care if this was the biggest bomb in box office history, I ADORED this movie. I honestly didn’t have a single complaint about it. Disney can moan and groan about how much money they lost on it, but in the end it was their fault. The marketing for this film was AWFUL. Most people didn’t even know it was coming out. Hell, most people didn’t even know what it was. And to all the critics of the film who said it ripped off every other sci-fi fantasy movie ever….you might wanna do your homework: The Princess of Mars books are what every sci-fi fantasy movie ever ripped off. The cast was great, the visuals were stunning (the movie looked great in 3D), and I thought the pacing was great. This was a love-letter to Edgar Rice-Burroughs stans and lovers of classic 70s and 80s adventure films like Planet of the Apes and Conan the Barbarian. So basically this movie was made for me. I’m sad that this is most definitely *not* becoming a franchise after how badly it performed because I loooooove the source material, loooooved the movie, and Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E) is one of my favorite directors in animation. Oh well, his crossover to live-action will live on in my heart and maybe one day as a cult classic.

8. Rise of the Guardians

I have got to give Dreamworks their props. Everybody is always sucking Pixar’s dick but in all honesty Pixar has been off their game with their last few releases….and Dreamworks has been steadily coming up in the world. Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, and now Rise of the Guardians. Beautiful animation and stellar character designs throughout. Who doesn’t love tatted up Santa? The ‘camera work’ in this movie is probably some of the most interesting all year. Director Peter Ramsey knew exactly where to put the camera, how to move it, and how it moved the audience along. The story is whimsical and child-friendly, but has enough maturity to appeal to adults (without resorting to suggestive wink/nod humor like the Shrek films do). Main character Jack Frost’s journey is one that I genuinely cared about and I wanted to see him and his comrades succeed. I hope this one becomes a franchise because this series is ripe with potential for more.

7. Skyfall

This deserves to be on here for not only being awesome, but for saving the franchise after the unwatchable mess that was Quantum of Solace. A very different kind of Bond movie, but in the best possible way. Rather than follow the standard formula (Bond has a mission, sex, meets the badguy, sex, mission expands, more badguys, sex, save the world from blowing up) Skyfall instead focuses on introspection and character development. We get to see where Bond grew up, and we really dig into Judi Dench’s M who is the true Bond girl of this one. Daniel Craig has really come into his own as Bond, and I can’t wait to see more of the classic Bond elements that the series is beginning to reintroduce in this entry (Q, Moneypenny, the base of operations for MI6). The action scenes are very well done, with not a single bullshit shaky-cam sequence to be found. Visually the movie was a treat, with some really stellar uses of lighting and color. And can we talk about Javier Bardem playing what is sure to become an iconic Bond villain? Was in love with that sassy queen.

6. Magic Mike

First of all let’s talk about the movie-going experience; I don’t think I’ve had more fun seeing a movie all year (Save for my #2 and #1 anyway). I was pleasantly surprised by Magic Mike in the best possible way. I went to the theater expecting two things: A good time with the gays hooting and hollering, and some major eye candy (Joe Manganiello in particular, woof!). Basically I was expecting the male equivalent of Showgirls. Instead I got a beautifully filmed movie (instagram filtered more like) with a genuinely intriguing story about male ego and self worth. Some really great nuanced performances throughout too. Matthew McConaughey steals the show for me, and I honestly found his performance in Magic Mike to be the best of his career and one of the best all year. I would most definitely support him for a supporting actor nod for this one. And Channing Tatum, though clearly playing himself, was endearing and charming as ever. Do yo’ thang gurl. OH! And holy cow, Olivia Munn. Wish she had more screen time instead of playing second fiddle to the emotionless plank of wood that was cast in the lead female part. Also: ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass.

5. Paranorman

It always makes me happy when someone other than Dreamworks or Disney/Pixar releases a major animated feature. It makes me even happier when they release animated features as good as this one. First of all probably the best done stop-motion animation I’ve ever seen (Tim Burton eat your heart out). Second of all, Paranorman is a true testament to the fact that kids movies don’t have to be dumbed down for kids. This movie is full of laughs and fun action moments, but also has more heart and genuine emotion than any big budget drama or romance that came out in 2012. Ultimately this is a story about a child learning how to deal with loss, and the subject matter is handled impeccably. If you haven’t seen this one or wrote it off as yet another factory-made kids flick, I implore you to go find a copy and watch it. Thank me later.

Bonus points for having the first openly gay character in an animated children’s flick ever. Revolutionary tbh.

4. Cabin in the Woods

I’ve literally waited for this movie to come out foryears. As a Joss Whedon fan and a horror movie fan the mere notion of him working on a horror/scifi mash up piece was enough for me to buy a ticket. Thankfully the movie did not disappoint in the least. Whedon and Goddard have created a movie that I could watch again and again and never get bored. As much a commentary and deconstruction of horror films as it is one, if you love the genre you’ll find something to enjoy here. There are some amazing twists and turns that will keep you guessing to the very end too. Here’s hoping that Joss’ newfound mainstream success will allow him to make more pet projects like this in between Marvel movies. Also: Chris Hemsworth and Amy Acker. Two of my faves.

3. Wreck It Ralph

Walt Disney Animation is on a roll. Ever since John Lassetter took over that department following the Disney/Pixar merger things have been shining bright at the House of Mouse. Princess and the Frog, Winnie the Pooh, Tangled, and now Wreck It Ralph. That’s four for four. The moment I saw the trailer for this bad boy I knew I’d love it. A movie about video games, what’s not to love. Thankfully the movie doesn’t lose itself in cameos and inside jokes (which it could have very easily done) and instead focuses on the heart of the characters. I swear I started tearing up at least three different times during this one. The ensemble is brilliantly cast, with each of the four main characters jumping off the screen. This one is an instant-classic that speaks to a modern audience while still retaining that patented Disney magic. 2nd Disney Renaissance anyone? Y/Y?

2. Django Unchained

I am as shocked as you are. Not that the movie was incredible; even Tarantino’s worst is lightyears beyond everyone else’s best. Rather I’m shocked that this was my number 2 this year. Anyone who knows me knows that I worship the ground Quentin walks on and his movies are always my faves every single year there is one. So why number two? Well it was a tough choice but ultimately it came down to this: Both are incredible cinematic experiences unlike anything else this year, but I have ZERO complaints about my number one and a handful about Django. Namely…we’ve been down this road before. The movie, brilliant as it is, largely follows the same dramatic arc as the flaw free Inglourious Basterds. Also the pacing is really off for the first act of the movie, with lazy (though stunningly filmed) transitions to carry us from scene to scene, though once Leonardo DeCaprio shows up the pace is on point and everything flows as it should. Also, considering this movie is from the guy who created Jackie Brown, The Bride, most of the Kill Bill cast, Shosanna Dreyfus, and the ladies of Death Proof, aka some of the most compellingly written strong female characters in all of cinema……..the female characters in this movie are, well, non-existant. The women here are props or objects to be rescued and nothing more. ALL OF THAT BEING SAID THOUGH, this movie is still one of the greatest all year. Even with its faults the script is still some of Tarantino’s best writing to date. The cinematography is absolutely stunning, probably the best all year. Each shot is so carefully crafted it’s unreal. Arguably some of Tarantino’s most visually stunning work to date. There is a sequence with Jamie Foxx walking through a field with moss hanging behind him and women on swings that I cannot get out of my head. There are at least 3 Oscar-worthy performances in this one from Leo, Christoph Waltz, and, surprisingly, Samuel L. Jackson who manages to steal the entire show for me! If I was voting on supporting Oscar nods I’d have Sam and Leo right up there alongside Matthew this year. The soundtrack is on point too, from hokey western score to Tupac. More than anything, though, I think Tarantino has done a brilliant job dealing with the very touchy subject matter he’s chosen to make a film about. I honestly believe that this film will carry a greater legacy than many of his other work will (better films or not) because of the spotlight he’s brought on a very ugly and mostly unspoken time in Americna history. He balances gratifying entertainment with a very fascinating look at slavery that deserves to be studied in my opinion.

Gimme that full director’s cut Quentin, and don’t make me wait years for it this time either. (Still waiting for a full release of Grindhouse and the full recut of Kill Bill)

1. The Avengers

This shouldn’t have worked. Like, seriously, this should have been the biggest hottest mess EVER. An undertaking like this, that is a shared cinematic universe, has never been done with this same amount of focus and polish. I honestly believe that if this had fallen into anyone else’s hands it would have all fallen apart. But Joss Whedon made it work. He took a bunch of A-list actors that he had no say in casting or not, five preceding movies ranging in quality from really good to The Incredible Hulk, and a story about a cosmic cube and aliens and managed to make it work. More than that, he made it work well. He made every single character a valid and necessary part of the story. If this movie were an essay the thesis question would be “why the hell do any of these characters make sense together?” Everyone has their moment, even supporters like Coby Smulders. Black Widow wasn’t overshadowed by Thor. Any other director could have easily made Iron Man and Thor do everything and everyone else stand around as background decoration. Whedon instead finds use for every characters and is sure to give each one their moment in the sun. Craziest of all, Whedon managed to take a conveluted mess that is the individual histories and continuities and have them all come together to form a cohesive whole.

My boyfriend sat in a theater from 11AM to 2AM watching every single Marvel movie in order (with half hour bathroom breaks) leading up to the midnight premiere of the Avengers and not only was it one of the single most intense and amazing theater-going experiences of my life, it also put The Avengers into a better perspective. Themes of sustainable energy vs. weapon manufacturing, throwaway lines, even the way all the technology glows the same blue color in every film; there are seeds spread across every single movie (even the less than stellar Hulk one) that all pay off in The Avengers. Watching them all in order really highlighted how brilliant a finale to Marvel’s first wave this was.

Technically the film was a joy to watch with some incredible action sequences and visuals. Whereas most comic book movies try too hard for realism coughdarkknightcoughthis movie was a comic book movie and didn’t once apologize. In your face explosions, wirefu, aliens, buildings collapsing and not once did I think “that’s not real.” or “that was too over the top.”

So as a standalone film, a capstone on an ongoing cinematic event like nothing before, and as a theater-going event there was no better experience for me this year than The Avengers.

Here’s hoping they can keep the momentum going as they enter the second wave.

Also bonus point for FINALLY getting the Hulk right.

So there you go! What were your faves? Disagree with mine? Agree? Think my taste is flawless or awful. Either way lemme know. <strike>So I can then prove you wrong. </strike>

interior. leather bar.

Excuse me while I hyperventilate in a corner. James Franco and Travis Mathews are teaming up to recreate the lost 40 minutes of one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE grindhouse era flicks, Cruising!?!?!?!

Cruising was very controversial for its time, but I personally adore it. It’s like if Tarantino made a gay-themed slasher flick. And who doesn’t love a movie where sexy ass Al Pacino cruises around leather bars and learns the hanky code?

Sadly the movie was reviled by gay activists who (understandably at the time) felt the movie poorly reflected the community as a whole (though it certainly didn’t try to). What’s more, nearly 40 minutes of footage were cut and not only did those 40 minutes wind up on the cutting room floor…they’re most likely destroyed; gone forever.

We were hip to the making of this film awhile back, but not elated to know when it will be showing.

“Interior. Leather Bar,” will premiere at Sundance New Frontiers programin January. Originally titled, “James Franco’s 40 Minutes,” the “homo-sex-art-film” is an homage to William Friedkin’s 1980 thriller, “Cruising,” starring a young Al Pacino.

In order to avoid an X rating, 40 minutes of gay S&M footage was rumored to be cut and destroyed from the 1980 film, “Cruising.” Inspired by the mythology of this controversial film, filmmakers James Franco and Travis Mathews collaborate to imagine their own lost footage.

Amid the backdrop of a frenzied film set actor Val Lauren reluctantly agrees to take the lead in the film. Val is repeatedly forced to negotiate his boundaries during scenes on and “off camera,” as unsimulated gay sex happens around him. The film itself is constructed as a play with boundaries remaining queer in subject and form. As much a film about filmmaking as it is about an exploration of sexual and creative freedom, “Interior. Leather Bar.” defies easy categorization. Travis Mathews

Richard Heffner to reportedly commented, “There are not enough Xs in the alphabet” to rate it, the filmmaker once told the Guardian.

So let me get this straight: This preteen girl lives alone in this giant house, with a predatory older man dressed in a turkey costume, and they throw holiday parties to bring in other preteens. Most likely to harvest them for the Ark Music Factory.

This is all I’m thinking about this election day. So much animosity on both sides, and the real issues often get lost in all the media frenzy and hype. We need to refocus ourselves as a society and learn to care about *people* again. Not the controversies, not the bottom line, not the individual success, but the larger whole. I’m not going to tell you who to vote for, it honestly doesn’t change my opinion of you in the long run (even if some of my own personal freedoms, like the ability to marry, may or may not be on the line), because we often forget that no matter who wins the presidency we live in a DEMOCRACY. We live in a country where we can question, where we can dissent, where we can have political discourse. Remember that at the end of the day it is the American people that run this country, and not any single individual. Make your voice heard, but also be sure to listen to the other voices around. So everyone stop yelling and talk to each other for a second. You might learn something. And after you vote today, go and show someone a little love.

Someone needs to tell Vogue that their website sucks.

The use of not one, but two, Avril Lavigne songs as the next One Piecefilm’s theme songs came about after One Piece manga creator Eiichiro Oda sent Lavigne a letter. Lavigne, a well-known Japanophile, had agreed to the offer from the One Piece Film Z’s producers to contribute a song.

This isn’t the first time Avril has crossed paths with the Otaku world:

This is the first time, however, that she’s become involved with an established series. Now I know most One Piece fans (myself included) are looking like this right now:

BUT let’s not freak out just yet. Avril Lavigne may not be my favorite choice for….well….anything, these days but I must admit that once upon a time ‘sk8er boy’ was my jam. Even today if it pops on I’ll enjoy it.

And if Mr. One Piece himself, Eiichiro Oda, went out of his way to ask her to do this then I can go with it. After all, who know what fits One Piece better than its creator? And it must be noted that Mr. Oda is quite the fan of American pop culture, regularly referencing it in One Piece. Entire characters (Django for example) exist in the series that are basically manga-fied versions of real people.

All of that being said, though, we must never forget this monstrosity that I immediately thought of when hearing about “Japanophile” Avril:

Overall the season premiere of SNL was pretty solid. The best sketches were easily the ones with Seth, the clear winner being the puppet sketch. I was happy to see Jay Pharaoh finally getting some screen time. The political sketches are still waring on me, but it’s election season so I better brace myself. And, of course, Frank Ocean was lookin’ fine and gave two spectacular performances.

Matt Cain joins NOH8

10 Reasons why Ryan Lochte is America’s Sexiest Douchebag via Jezebel

The first time I heard the voice, I chose to ignore it. Ryan Lochte is kind of a fratty idiot, Erin, the voice said. All the signs are right there. You’re being willfully ignorant. “Shut up, brain!” I replied. “You’re not the boss of me! Come on, vagina! Let’s get out of here, away from the party pooper trying to ruin our fun.” And then we went out for appletinis. But as the Olympics progressed, as more and more montages of Ryan Lochte talking about his sneaker collection or donning a sparkling America grill in his gorgeous mouth filled my TV screen, I couldn’t pretend that reality wasn’t real anymore. Ryan Lochte, as drool-inducingly hot as he is both in and out of the water, is a raging, throbbing douchebag. And here’s why.

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Jezebel. But why they gotta throw that shade at my boy Reezy?

Methinks the lady doth be pressed too much.

Let’s break this down:

10. He has a “signature exclamation.”

And I can only hope he yells ‘JEAH. JEAH. JEAH.’ when he climaxes. Just saying.

9. He’s fratty as fuck.

Excuse me, but I find the f-word to be very offensive. Please check that non-affiliated privilege at the door.

8. His art.

Yeah. Crying mushrooms are weird, but I gotta love a guy who likes to draw.

7. This was his contribution to the US Swim Team’s Call Me Maybe parody video.

I see nothing wrong here.

6. Giant fancy shoe collection

5. Least original style ever, but can’t shut up about how original he is.

…….alright, I can give you this one.

4. His taste in women is less nuanced and restrained than his taste in clothing.

Cool story, sis. Tell me something I don’t know.

3. He calls himself a “rock star”…

So did Rihanna. And everybody. Nobody’s mad about that.

2. … but even his teammates think he’s a douche.

Rookies on the USA Swimming team perform skits as part of their initiation to the team, and when Connor Dwyer was assigned to play Lochte, he dressed the part. USA Today, with the hard news that matters, reported,

“Played my teammate @ryanlochte in our rookie skits last night,” tweeted Conor Dwyer, who included a photo of himself as Ryan Lochte complete with lime-green kicks, camouflage shorts and chain around his neck.

I didn’t see “Playing my teammate @douchebaglochte” in that tweet, so…

1. The America grill.

The only problem with the America grill is that it’s not all up in mine right now. Don’t hate it gurl. Embrace it.

BRB buying my own America grill <strike>and coming to terms with my attraction to douchebags and slowly making the realization the Jezebel writer made, thus invalidating this list I just spent a bunch of time making and realizing that I am indeed the only pressed person here</strike>
